After first term finals, Paul finds himself at the top of his medical school class. The London King’s College requires its top medical students to receive the National Medical Program at the Mondorano University in Denmark, well known for its great medical summer program. Paul was glad that he achieved top marks because his parents rewarded him with a personal jet. But he did not want to go to Denmark; he really wanted to go home.Paul just wanted to enjoy his summer with his best friend Ryan attending parties.
Paul knew that his achievement was because of the private tutoring he received for three hours everyday. His mother was Miranda White, the world most fabulous fashion designer and his father was a lord from England.Paul was the only son in the White family and that meant his life was blessed. However, to Paul the fact that he was the only son of the White family was not so attractive because he was afraid that people approach him with the alternative motives like they were getting close to him with the intention of ripping him off. He never felt like he had a true friend other than Ryan, his childhood companion.
His mother was always busy throwing parties, showing off her wealth to other members in her country club and his father was a workaholic who even missed Paul’s birthday party. Paul needed love and care and praise, not some faked sentiments or bribery, and partying was his only way to be free from pressure and able to enjoy his life. In other words, going to Denmark would do no good for him.
However, Paul, feeling an obligation to his school, takes off on his personal jet and goes off to Denmark few days later. That was his turning point. No one knew who he was, or where he was from and people took him as he was. He met Nathaniel, Sarah and made a few more friends who truly worried and cared for him. He also found his true interest in medicine because he realized that he would do whatever it took to help these friends if they needed him. There was so much to experience outside of what he knew, or where he lived and his experience enabled him to continue his realizations even after coming back to London. Paul was a man who truly understood that he wanted to practice medicine to help people and that was who he was.
